The Butterfly Window

Yesterday I tried to post some new photos and could only get one to post, so let's try it one more time!

Here's a photo of another project that I just finished of a window in my office. My neighbor likes to store a trailer in his driveway with old cars that he tears apart to build race cars. This window is visible from the couch and I just thought it would be nice to see somthing pretty instead of old rusty cars!

I took this picture during daylight hours. It is not stained glass but Gallery Glass by Plaid. This is a great craft to hide or decorate windows, mirrors or anything glass or even plexiglass and the best thing is, it is not a permanent. The leading is available in premade strips that you just peel and stick or you can make your own. I like the premade because they are uniform in shape and thickness and to be honest, all the squeezing of the lead lines is hard on my hands. The color is squeezed onto the glass and spread around with the tip.  This is such an easy craft to do and it can be removed with a single edge razor blade. A great craft for renters! The light shines through the picture but does not reflect the way "true" stained glass would. A fun project with super results!

What an elegant way to have light still coming in the window without having to see the neighbor's unsightly stuff.

I've always wanted to try this method of stain glass. I saw it on a tv show years ago and thought how lovely it would be.

Thanks for sharing your beautiful art and attractive idea for a better view.

Hi Dee,
Thanks for the kind words. This is my second window. I did the front door in our old house. It was a metal door and had 9 diamond shape pieces of glass. I did that one with morning glories. It turned out pretty good too.

OOOOOHHHHHHH another I'M LOVIN' IT!

Perfect for a bathroom window to give a little privacy but some beautiful lighting or maybe a kitchen window too. I even like the idea of this on a wall! Absolutely beautiful!
I think I would go with the premade strips myself for I would go nuts trying to get all the lead uniformed, I am kinda sorta picky that way when I am working on something

This is very beautiful, indeed! Where would you find something like that? It would be great in the bathroom, as I have aluminum foil on the window for 'shower privacy' now!!! LOL This would be great! I had no idea there were window covers like this! Gorgeous! Love butterflies!!!
