Congrats on the Blog Spotlight
Most awesome!!!
It's been a while since my last post. Have been busier than normal. Finally got the spring yard work under control. The garden is planted and plants have been relocated to new homes and all appears to be doing well. Can't wait for GOOD tomatoes!!!!
We got 4' of rain the other night and a tornado hit a small town about 60 miles south of us. The weather has warmed up and the windows to the basement are open and the big fans are on, in hopes of getting things dry before the next down pour.
I have been on a cleaning kick the past 2-3 weeks. I have cleaned carpets and rearranged cupboards.
I had a wonderful Mother's Day. Both of my kids came for a quick visit. My son and his wife went and picked up my daughter and arrived late Saturday night and left before noon on Monday. It was the best gift they could have given me! With my son in the military, I don't get to see him very ofter and I have not seen my daughter in quite some time too. Distance, obligations and finances have made visiting difficult. We had a great visit and it was wonderful to see both of them at the same time!
Yesterday I went to the vet to get some ear meds for Bear. After much thought, I made an appointment for this Thursday to have Lucky put to sleep. My heart is torn over this decision.Even thought he is 16 1/2 yrs old, he still eats pretty good but is blind and deaf now. His teeth are rotten and falling out and he is not going to the bathroom like he used to. He has Congestive Heart Failure and coughs consistently when he is up and especially when he first wakes up. However, even with all of this, he still will get a spurt of energy and that is what is tugging at my heart. The vet says that since I am up 3 sometimes 4 times a night with him that it is probaby time. He has been a great friend and always loving over the years and I will miss him dearly!
That's it for now. Hope everyone is having a great day.
